Reduced Dig Herbicide Treatment
Reduced Dig & Herbicide Treatment.

Intro
Combining digging and Herbicide treatment (spraying) is effective in reducing the time needed when compared with Herbicide treatments alone.
The Process
As most Japanese knotweed rhizome exists in the upper layers of topsoil by utilising an excavator to cultivate around the top 500mm of ground the intention is to break up the plant rhizome thereby stimulating leaf production and making the plant markedly more vulnerable to herbicide treatment. Rhizome is also stimulated to produce green growth if it is near or on the surface. Therefore more of the rhizome brought to the surface the greater the exposure to herbicide and therefore the more effective the treatment will be.
The Benefits
Reduced Dig & Herbicide Treatment provides an effective option between Herbicide only treatments and full Excavation, Separation & Removal. Reduced Dig & Herbicide Treatment is typically faster than treatment alone and depending on the client's requirements may be more cost effective than Excavation, Separation & Removal.
